BIO

Photographer and designer, Alcinoo has worked in fashion, theatre, documentary and portrait photography.

2003-2009 FASHION, THEATRE AND PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY: Catalogues and fashion spreads: publishing in major newspapers and magazines, working for national retail stores producing catalogues (Jornal do Brasil, NY Times, Revista N, O Globo etc)

2003-2005 DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY, Rio de Janeiro: Working closely with the NGO Jongo da Serrinha following singers, musicians, children in the inner-city suburbs of Rio de Janeiro

2008-2009 FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR- JONGOTV: photography and video school, rio de janeiro, brazil: Alcinoo created the JongoTV school for which funding has been secured for 2009 from GLOBO and UNESCO. As director of the Project Alcnoo is responsible for curriculum and directives.

2005-2009 ART DIRECTOR, JONGO DA SERRINHA, rio de janeiro, brazil: As Art Director for the NGO, Alcinoo has sat on the board of directors and started a renewal of its image, contributing with photography exhibitions, designing promotional material and redesigning the website as well as contributing to its ongoing development and inception of new projects and directives.

2003-2009 ART DIRECTOR AND PHOTOGRAPHER, Zeppelin theatre company: The Zeppelin Theatre Company was founded by award winning Writer and director Pedro Bricio in 2003, joining forces with award winning actors, lighting, set and costume designers. From its first ever production “O homem que era Sabado”, through to its latest acclaimed “Cine Teatro Limite”, Alcinoo has been photographing on and off the set, designing books, promotional materials, outdoor banners, interpreting and inspiring further the director’s vision for his plays and productions.
